The Re-Upholstering of a Footstool

i chose to re-upholster my great grandmothers old footstool. i got it when she died and it was pretty knarly. the foam was worn out and it was basically falling apart. i started by removing all the old fabric. this was disgusting. i realized then that the baby pink footstool at one time was a very HOT pink. also pretty much all the mesh wiring underneath the foam was rusted out. i then realized one of the pieces of wood was split pretty badly along where two of the legs attached. i decided to remove the board and replace it which proved a little harder than i had thought it would be. i had to re-attach the legs and custom cut the board by cutting down a 2X4. after that was finally taken care of i replaced the mesh wiring and cut a new piece of upolstery foam for the top. then i put the fabric on. i stapled most of it with the staple gun and along the edges where it had to be tucked under i used furniture tacks which compliment the footstool rather nicely. all in all it turned out pretty good.
