Foam Pumpkin

the project was to carve something of our choice approved by the teacher, out of styrofoam. i chose to make a pumpkin because it was near halloween and i was in a rather festive mood. i started by cutting out with a hot knife a pretty large chunk of standard white styrofoam. then i began shaping it to be more round or ovular. i left the bottom flat so it could rest on the ground or a table or whatever without falling over and rolling everywhere. then i used the cheese grater things to basically sand away all the sharp edges and shape it more like a real pumpkin. i carved grooves along the sides and then painted it all to look real. then i liquid nailed the stem on top.
